Sahara Misting Pump Features
Koolfog’s Sahara fog pump, named after what is called “the greatest desert”, was created for international use as well as within the U.S. for commercial voltage supplies. Our Sahara stands in line with our Mojave product line, exemplifying the same kind of craftsmanship and meticulous design.
Beginning with the motor selection, Koolfog has chosen totally enclosed and fan cooled (TEFC) motors for all of our misting pumps, including the Sahara. All pump motors contain components that are easily compromised when infiltrated by dust or water. Instead of incorporating filters that must be changed and still can’t prevent all dust and water intrusion, the totally enclosed motor is completely protected from the elements. Additionally, most environments where our pumps are placed are often extreme. Open drip proof (ODP) motors pull hot air from these harsh environments attempting to keep motor windings cooled. Instead, TEFC motors use an externally mounted fan to blow air across the motor enclosure, to keep the motor cooled. The consistency and life of any pump motor is directly influenced by the environment it works within. Using extra protective measures to ensure the life of the motor is the beginning of the difference between Koolfog’s unique mist pump line and any other on the market.
The Sahara is also equipped with the essential component package that all commercial and industrial mist pumps manufactured by Koolfog enjoy. 2 glycerin filled gauges to measure discharge water pressure, inlet water pressure and an hour meter all help to identify most common issues and develop preventative maintenance programs. An automatic low water pressure shut off valve is a safety component that protects your investment from unknown or unplanned water supply issues and an automatic drain valve discharges trapped pressure within your fog lines so that nozzles won’t drip. The Sahara also offers remote relay control for straightforward integration to outside systems.

The third largest desert on earth, stretching across North Africa and roughly the size of China, the sublimity of the Sahara desert is awe inspiring. During their peak, the Phoenicians, had a confederation of kingdoms that stretched across the Sahara, centralizing along the Mediterranean coast. This maritime trading culture so heavily influenced the way we communicate with each other that we owe respect to the environment they thrived in. Thus, Sahara became a name for one of our greatest international misting pump product lines.
