Proper pump selection is the most important consideration in designing outdoor cooling or humidification systems. Koolfog offers a variety of misting pumps designed from residential light-duty to commercial and industrial continuous duty high-pressure pumps. Our high-pressure misting and humidification pumps come in a variety of shapes and sizes. We have named each product line after some of the hottest regions in the world:
The Mojave is our flagship high-pressure misting and humidification pump used in commercial, residential, industrial and municipal environments. The Mojave is offered in .5 to 2.2 gpm models.
The Sahara is utilized in the U.S. and abroad, offering 220/230V, 50/60Hz supply. The Sahara is designed in .5 to 2.85 gpm models.
The Oasis is Koolfog’s power and water efficient model in a streamlined design. The Oasis boasts an efficient three phase motor controlled by a variable frequency drive. The Oasis operates between .2 and 2.2 gpm.
The Atacama is our commercial, industrial line and is designed for the most sophisticated or high-volume misting and humidification applications. The Atacama is offered in flow rates from 3 gpm to 25+ gpm.
Fog Pumps Turned Misted
As the emergence of applications for fog became more complicated, systems that utilized high pressure and atomization to repurpose water particles for aesthetic or humidification ends began to create new uses. Fog has been used to protect poultry, cool cows, promote growth in tomatoes, provide a cool environment for packaging basil, eradicate dust in waste facilities, reduce heat stress in workers, provide visual effects at theme parks, enhance fountains, mimic vapors in hazmat training, provide comfort in restaurant dining areas, cool cabana areas in poolside lounge areas and more.
At one time, all these high-pressure applications were referred to as “fog”. However, as fog systems started to appear in restaurants, resorts and public spaces popularity increased. At the same time low-cost low-pressure systems entered big box retail and contributed to market confusion. So the terminology used to describe high-pressure fog changed to “misting systems”, “misters”, or “cool mist systems”. And so the name was changed but the technology remained essentially the same.
Each fog application uses the same basic principles for system and pump design but as the industry has expanded, more durable materials, higher control over power and usage, expanded control capabilities and more creative applications have been added to the overall landscape. As technology has carried us to the next step in misting and fogging, coming up with new configurations with individual names communicates this progress.
Not all pumps are made the same. With each step towards a more sophisticated possibility, the wider the range of misting and humidification pumps. Koolfog has crafted a line of high-pressure misting and fog system pumps that align high quality with sophisticated control options to produce an endless array of misting and fog effects. Quite literally, the applications are unlimited, only bounded by your imagination.
