FAQ Greenhouse Fogging
Why is balanced humidity important in a greenhouse?
Humidity is vital to the growing process, but it needs to be balanced. Too much humidity can cause disease and invite pests. Too little humidity can slow photosynthesis and plant growth, leading to reduced yield. Also, it is important that humidity is balanced throughout a greenhouse, so all plants are in a healthy growing environment.
Why is temperature control important in a greenhouse?
Hot temperatures can cause serious problems in indoor growing facilities. Too much heat can inhibit photosynthesis, which leads to slower growth rates. It can also speed up evaporation in soil and in plants, which can constrain nutrient uptake and lead to root and foliage damage. Finally, hot temperatures also invite disease and pests.
What does Koolfog offer to bring balanced humidity and temperature control to a greenhouse?
Koolfog offers foggers, also known as high-pressure fogging systems and misters, to bring balanced humidity, temperature control and plant health to indoor growing facilities. Koolfog’s foggers for humidification allow growers to maintain a consistent greenhouse atmosphere. The foggers also can maintain precise temperature conditions by transforming water droplets into vapor to cool the atmosphere. The fogging systems promote photosynthesis in plants across the grow room, allowing them to prosper. We also bring the experience required to design a system properly. We address important factors such as placement of nozzles to realize balanced humidity while not creating unintended consequences like dripping, condensation, or wetting.
What facility requirements are there for a fog system?
Facilities require water and power connections as well as a drain at the pump unit to relieve pressure in the system. The water source can be city-supplied or reverse osmosis, the latter being the best choice in areas where hard water is prevalent to keep nozzles free of buildup. Chemicals can be run through a Koolfog system, but seals and other components may need to be upgraded to provide longevity in the system. Our chemical-compatible option includes upgrades to fittings, solenoid valve seals, pump seals, and hoses.
What else can you tell me about Koolfog’s fogging system?
A system includes a fog pump, sometimes referred to as a compressor; distribution lines, which feature high-pressure plumbing from the fog pump to the nozzles; fog nozzles for delivery of atomized water; and the option of zoning, with solenoids to separate stages or rooms. Koolfog offers customized systems as well as systems that can be scaled up to provide humidity in the largest of spaces or throughout multiple rooms.
FAQ Cannabis Fogging
How important is controlling humidity in indoor cannabis grow facilities?
It is vitally important, with the general humidity range for indoor cultivation between 60% and 75% for all growth stages. If humidity drops much below 50%, plants close their stomata, which slows the photosynthetic process. This leads to stress, slower growth rates, and compromised yield. If humidity is over 80%, a higher risk of fungal, bacterial, and viral infections exists. Humidity control also plays a significant role in managing vapor pressure deficit (VPD), the concept that measures the variance in pressure between the humidity inside and outside of a leaf. Clone rooms and grow rooms will thrive when VPD is properly managed.
What does Koolfog offer to bring balanced humidity and temperature control to grow rooms?

Koolfog’s foggers for humidification allow growers to maintain a consistent growing atmosphere. Can fogging systems help control cannabis heat stress?
Like all plants, cannabis require a consistent and ideal microclimate, with temperature playing a key role for proper photosynthesis and growth. A Koolfog fogging system can create a consistent microclimate and optimize temperature control in grow rooms to avoid cannabis heat stress, which can inhibit a plant’s nutrient uptake, damage its roots and foliage, and attract pests and diseases.
Can a fogging system help with cannabis grow room odor control?
Yes, employing high-pressure fogging techniques with automated program controls can eliminate cannabis odors effectively, which is vital because most states that allow cannabis cultivation and production on a larger scale have created legislation that prevents these facilities from venting untreated air. The process involves operating a Koolfog system to produce micron-sized water droplets, which are distributed at the exhaust side of a cannabis greenhouse or indoor grow facility. When combined with odor neutralizers, cannabis odors are trapped and dismantled.
Can a fogging system help in pest control for cannabis?
Yes, a fogging system can produce a dense fog with billions of micron-sized water droplets that can completely penetrate a flowering canopy, reaching into the furthest crevices. IPM agents, such as such hydrogen peroxide-based additives or various essential oil blends, can be infused directly into the fog on a schedule to eliminate cannabis pests.
